About Open Air Cinema - 18/8/18

A must for lovers of the Star Wars films and for those who enjoy their cinema al fresco!

Join us on Saturday 18 August for our very first open air cinema experience in Merthyr Tydfil town centre, in Llys Janice Rowlands.

Featuring the two most recent Star Wars films, we open with The Force Awakens at 1pm, followed by the Last Jedi at 4pm (both films have a 12 rating).

What do you need to know about The Force Awakens? Well, some thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the galaxy faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order.

When a defector named Finn (John Boyega) crash-lands on a desert planet, he meets Rey (Daisy Ridley), a tough scavenger whose droid contains a top-secret map. Together, the young duo joins forces with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) to make sure the Resistance receives the intelligence concerning the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), the last of the Jedi Knights.

The Force Awakens will be followed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Luke Skywalker's peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an all-out assault against Leia and the Resistance for supremacy of the galaxy.

Whilst you're watching the films, you'll be able to enjoy a tasty bite, delicious ice cream, amazing cocktails and some light refreshments for a relaxing August afternoon.

Entry is free and you can either bring your own chair or hire one for £2 (limited numbers available).

All in all, a great day out with your friends and family!
