Better Outcomes for Children in Need through Commissioning
The overall aim of the project is to achieve, through commissioning, further reconfiguration of services and resources relating to children in need and their families, and those who are at risk of needing accommodation as a consequence of significant harm. By looking at the needs of vulnerable children in Merthyr Tydfil, and comparing this to current resources and provision, the aim is to develop a strategy to develop services for children in need. The work is being supported by the Social Services Improvement Agency for Wales (SSIA), and the Institute of Public Care (IPC), part of Oxford Brookes University. We would welcome your views on services for children and families who are in need. For example we would like your views on:-
- What are the needs of children at risk of entry into care?
- What services are needed to prevent children being admitted into care?
- How well do current services meet the needs of vulnerable children?
- How can we best involve the different professionals and services working with children and families in Merthyr Tydfil?
