Support in the HomeMaintaining your Independence
One of the aims of the Integrated Adult Services Directorate is to help you to retain your independence whenever it is possible to do so.
Support in the Community
Our aim is to help you to live as full a life as possible in the Community. You may face different kinds of problems which will be identified through an assessment of your needs. There are many useful services that we can provide or put you in touch with - some of them are explained below.
Daily Living
We have staff who are able to help you continue to manage at home. You may be having difficulty getting in and out of your home, or just finding that the tasks of daily living, such as making a cup of tea, are becoming more and more difficult.
They can help you overcome those difficulties in a number of ways, sometimes by making small changes in the way you do things, or by providing suitable equipment to make the task easier.
It may be necessary to look at structural alterations to your home e.g providing a ground floor toilet/ washroom, shower room, stair lift etc.. our staff can help you with this process.
Making the most of your options
If you have problems with day to day living, we can help you learn to get around, to manage in the Community and overcome special problems you may face. We will work with you and other organisations that can provide such support to make sure that you receive the service you need.
